Bad Breath from the Nose

Bad Breath can come from many places in the ENT region (Ear, Nose and Throat). If you’re experiencing definite bad smells from your nasal cavities there’s a couple different reasons why it could be happening. The first thing you should do is have someone you trust check to see if there in fact is odors coming from your nose, the reason I’d suggest this is because your sense of smell can deviate from the actual smell, if any, coming from your nose.

If you do have smells coming out, there are only a couple definite causes of this; First, is an infection of the nasal region, or sometimes in the upper throat region. This is easily remedied by taking antibiotics prescribed to relieve the infection. Second, is a narrowed or highly congested nasal cavity that prevents proper air flow and sinus drainage. This causes the bacteria that usually is released through drainage into the stomach to become stagnant in the nose causing odors.

Odors from the nose in children, and adults, could as well be an oncoming sign of strep throat or sinusitis.
