NY Times publishes tonsil stone article to main stream media

January 31, 2010 in Tonsil Stones, Tonsillolith by Josh (admin)

Remember back when you didn’t know what was causing your bad breath, before you knew what tonsil stones were?  NY Times has published an article that has gotten a lot of attention, spreading the word of this condition around the internet.   They talk about what they are, which most of us already know, but they also interview Megan Swann which is a friend of mine.  We’ve talked about tonsil stones solutions and prevention on her health blog a number of months ago.  It’s good that someone with authority like the NY Times has published an article like this, hopefully helping more people around the world diagnose their bad breath conditions and give them the starting point to do something about it!  Unfortunately they don’t cover any preventative or dietary methods to stopping tonsil stones, as we do in our ebook (available for free on our home page).

What are your thoughts on mainstreams idea of tonsil stones? Do you think it’s diluted with retail products and affiliate sales pages, or do you think good information is being published on this increasingly popular topic?

White spots on my tonsils – What are they?

January 4, 2010 in Bad Breath, Tonsil Stones, Tonsillolith by Josh (admin)

If you’re wondering “what are the white posts on my tonsils?” then you’ve browsed to the right website! The first thing you have to answer is; Are you, or have you been sick recently with sinusitis or an upper respiratory infection?

Whatever your answer might be, the white spots on your tonsils are called “tonsilloliths”, otherwise known as “tonsil stones”. There’s nothing to be afraid of, as they’re mostly harmless to your tonsils. They’re simply a calcified formation of white blood cells, food debri, and bacteria from your mouth.

If you’ve recently been sick and just noticed that the white spots have been forming on your tonsils then most likely you don’t need to do anything about it. They will go away on their own once the sickness or infection has gone away. If you’ve noticed them over a period of months, then they’re there to stay unless you do something about it! People that are uninformed have thought that it might be cancer of the throat but this isn’t the case luckily.

The most common symptom of having chronic tonsil stones or white spots, is having bad breath. In bad cases the bad breath and sour taste won’t go away, or comes back within an hour or two of brushing your teeth. This is common in cases where the tonsil stones are a condition of the tonsils, not just a temporary flare up from a sickness.

I’ve dedicated this entire website to talking about and finding a real cure for tonsil stones, as there’s a lot of hype and bad information out there on how to stop them from forming. With the help of this tonsil stones community, we’ve written a resource guide on how to get rid of tonsil stones, the white spots forming on the back of your tonsils. In the resource, we cover what tonsilloliths are, why they form, what products to use to keep them at bay, and what foods to stay away from that cause them to form at a much more rapid rate.

Something to note that I was just informed of, if you notice that the white spots grow larger and larger to the point that they’re irritating your tonsils, you should seek medical advice immediately as it can cause an infection. Most people (99%) just experience these as very small tonsil rocks that don’t do much more than cause bad breath.

Have you experienced these white spots on your tonsils? Let’s chat =]

Bad Breath Everyday

January 4, 2010 in Bad Breath, Tonsil Stones, Tonsillolith by Josh (admin)

This is exactly what I used to deal with, Bad Breath Everyday. I would wake up knowing that I had bad breath and go about my day knowing that I couldn’t talk close to people because my breath was offensive. This takes an emotional and sometimes physical toll on your brain after years and years of negative reactions.

I actually thought it was funny when I first learned why I had bad breath. I researched and researched and self-diagnosed myself with having “tonsil stones”. Typing “tonsil stones” into a search engine, I found myself on the most popular websites about tonsil stones. It seemed like every single one of them pointed to a specific website that promotes products that claim to cure tonsil stones (not saying who). I proceeded to spend over $400 within the period of a year on products hoping to find a cure. Every single one of them didn’t work. I was left hopeless and wondering if I would ALWAYS have bad breath every single day for the rest of my life.

I have background in website design being a freelance web designer for a number of years. I thought to myself one day, “I’m going to make a site about tonsil stones, and I’m going to review EVERY single product that I can get my hands on until I find something that works and then promote it to the world!” That’s exactly what I did.

Through countless hours of research and way too much money spent, I’ve created a step-by-step resource that when followed properly, will completely stop your chronic bad breath and tonsil stones! Bad breath doesn’t have to follow you the rest of your life, constantly reminding you that you have NO confidence to talk to people to or engage in a meaningful conversation actually looking someone in the eye and talking straight towards them. It’s stressful I know! I’ve lived it almost all my life until recently when I’ve been completely freed from this burnden of tonsil stones forming. I’ve finally figured out how to get rid of tonsil stones and bad breath everyday and I’m here to share it to the world!

Tonsilloliths & Tonsil Stones

December 17, 2009 in Tonsillolith by Josh (admin)

Today we’re discussing the close relations between having tonsilloliths, otherwise known as tonsil stones, and chronic halitosis. Although there are many reasons why one could have chronic bad breath, tonsilloliths are being diagnosed more and more as the reason why.

Typically people that suffer from chronic tonsillitis, which is reoccurring swollen tonsils and sore throats, often experience problems with their breath as well. A patient who has tonsilloliths present is 10 times more likely to have problems with bad breath, than someone who doesn’t experience the growth of tonsilloliths. This statistic is slightly unnerving considering that if you’re reading this, you’re probably experiencing tonsilloliths on a regular basis.

If you’re currently fed up with having tonsil stones, here’s a few things that you should stay away from to keep them at bay until you download our ebook and start getting rid of them for good.
Alcohol: This is a huge aggressor for tonsilloliths, if you can feel that you have some building up inside your tonsils and you drink alcohol, we’ve found that this causes them to grow much more rapidly. Most likely from the fact that bacteria feeds off of this, and the dry mouth that follows along with it.
Dairy: Another huge aggressor in tonsilloliths formation is dairy. You can notice a slight reduction in tonsilloliths simply by reducing the amount of dairy that you consume.

I’ve searched the internet far and wide for information that will cure tonsilloliths and I’ve found that almost every bit of information that I’ve read always points to buying something that is obviously just a pawn to make money, with little or no good useful information that will actually HELP.

This is the reason that I created this website and my E-Book. I know I probably sound like every other Tonsil Stones “buy my book” ad right now, but with the help of this awesome community that’s developed, I’ve gathered and organized a step by step process that if you follow, you WILL stop all of your tonsilloliths from forming! And it doesn’t make you follow some strict diet that doesn’t let you eat anything normal, like a lot of e-books will direct you to do.

Until next time, take care! – Josh Katherman

Tonsil Stones

October 12, 2009 in Tonsil Stones, Tonsillolith by Josh (admin)

When people think of “stones” in the body they almost always think of “kidney stones”. But there’s actually another location that stones can form, inside your tonsils. Chronic sore throats, inflammation, white mucus-like substances coming from the tonsils, are all common symptoms of tonsil stones (tonsilloliths). Inside your tonsils are crevices, and holes (crypts) that can trap bacteria and food debris.

Tonsil stones aren’t just food debris, like some dentists will tell you. They’re a formation of mucus, dead white blood cells, food debris and oral bacteria. A healthy tonsils rule is to protect your mouth from foreign debris and bacteria, and given a culmination of all these conditions your tonsils work to calcify, or harden, the bacteria, food debris and mucus inside your tonsil crypts and crevices. This causes white balls to harden and form inside your tonsils. Tonsil stones are typicall small in size, ranging from 1-3mm, but in rare occasions reaching sizes that cause the patient extreme pain and discomfort.

In a normal case of tonsil stones, you might experience any or all of these symptoms:

Bad Breath: This is the most common of all the symptoms of tonsil stones. The volatile sulfur compounds released by tonsil stones spread throughout the mouth and cause chronic, reoccurring bad breath.

Ear Pain and Pressure: Being connected to the ear pathways, in rare cases patients have reported ear pain and pressure as the results of tonsil stones.

Tonsillitis: This is another common symptom that coexists with tonsilloliths. Symptoms are chronic inflammation and irritation of the tonsils.

Sore Throat: Typically caused either by large tonsil stones, or tonsillitis, sore throats accompany many tonsil stone sufferers.

Bleeding Tonsils: In more extreme cases, bleeding can occur in the tonsil or surrounding region. If you’re experiencing bleeding tonsils you should be looked at by an ENT (ear nose throat specialist) as it could cause infections.

To most people, the worst side effect of having tonsil stones (tonsilloliths) is having chronic bad breath. This is caused by the gases and bacteria that they release when formed. The bacteria from a tonsil stone is so dominant that when not properly taken care of, spreads throughout the entire mouth even down the back of your tongue. This is the reason that tonsil stone sufferers usually brush their teeth constantly throughout the day. Some people don’t experience calcified tonsil stones, but just a white puss or mucus-like liquid coming from their tonsils. In both cases people usually report chronic bad breath.

Tonsil stones CAN be remedied. Somethings to be weary of are the books for sale that say they cure tonsilloliths, when actually they impose very strict diets that are hard to follow. Take Care!

Tonsilloliths – Formed from dairy and gluten?

October 7, 2009 in Tonsil Stones, Tonsillolith by Josh (admin)

Hey everyone. I apologize for not making a new tonsil stones article for a week now. We’re in the process of moving so I’ve been pressed for time! As commented on, and referenced to in another unnamed tonsil stones ebook, it’s suggested that dairy AND gluten could be the cause of tonsil stone formation.

I’d actually like to test this theory out. If you’ve followed our instructions in our ebook and have “not” gotten desirable results, then gluten might be the cause of tonsil stones (tonsilloliths), although the percentages of gluten-caused tonsilloliths is much lower than tonsil stones caused from dairy consumption. Gluten is mostly found in wheat products such as wheat bread, cereals, some rices.

I’ve personally never experienced tonsil stones from any gluten products considering I’ve been tonsillolith-free for months, while eating wheat bread and cereals. So the test I’d like to you complete is if you’ve followed the step-by-step guide for curing tonsil stones and you haven’t had complete relief, cut out gluten from your diet and see if you notice better results! Here’s a site I found with a bunch of foods that are gluten-free or you can check out some products and foods from Amazon.com that are gluten-free. Take Care!

What to expect on YOUR journey of stopping Tonsil Stones (tonsilloliths)

September 30, 2009 in Tonsil Stones, Tonsillolith by Josh (admin)

Hey guys and gals! For those of you that are following our dietary and product usage guidelines for tonsil stones, I wanted to point out some things that you’ll probably notice along the way. Something you won’t notice for a while is your confidence while speaking to people, after a lifetime of thinking (or knowing!) you have bad breath will cause you to always turn your face away from people when speaking with them. This is something that takes a while to overcome even after you’ve cured tonsil stones!

About a week after I started, I noticed that I wasn’t brushing my teeth as much as I normally did. My mouth just didn’t feel “dirty” all the time like it did before! You’ll notice you don’t have the same tastes in your mouth that you usually get, especially after eating certain foods like dairy. In fact I use to avoid eating things like ranch dressing because the taste would stay in my mouth for hours and hours after I would eat something with ranch dressing on it. Things like this are no more! The lack of tonsilloliths in my tonsils has produced a clean feeling that I’ve never experienced my entire life before I created this step-by-step process.

If you haven’t downloaded our free ebook yet, sign up for our email newsletter (which is how we provide the download link). If you want a jump start to our system, start out with Grapefruit Seed Extract, it’s a critical key in stopping tonsil stones, or tonsilloliths, growth. If you need to remove the current tonsil stones lodged inside your tonsil crypts, try out a Dental Irrigatation Unit to flush out any tonsilloliths you may have.

If you’re doubting your fresh breath and tonsil stones condition after a couple weeks of using our method, drink a glass of milk and see how your mouth feels after a couple hours. The difference is like night and day!

Take care everyone – Josh Katherman

Tonsil Stones – Think your new non-dairy diet is restricting? Think again!

September 24, 2009 in Bad Breath, Tonsil Stones, Tonsillolith by Josh (admin)

For anyone that hasn’t read our e-book, I’m not going to spoil the entire tonsil stones prevention method BUT I am going to reveal “one” of the rules that people hoping to eliminate tonsil stones needs to abide by.. NO DAIRY! Initially when I wrote my e-book for everyone I was concerned that saying “no dairy” was way too restricting. I mean, all the good food, drinks, and snacks in life have dairy in them! It takes a little more than will-power to completely stay away from dairy, even for tonsil stones. For example my wife came home today with Dairy Queen and as I’m sitting here typing this, my family is sitting behind me enjoying Dilly Bars while I salivate and envy their delicious forbidden treats! It doesn’t have to be this way! Through a little bit of research I’ve found a HUGE list of recipe-books that convey nothing but non-dairy recipes! And they look amazing!

Ok check it out, there’s some basics that ALL of you should buy for everyday-around the house-type needs. Such as, Non-Dairy Creamer. I can assume that “most” of you drink coffee in the morning, using half and half, or almost any name-brand creamer, you’re setting your tonsils up for disaster! I don’t know about you but the “Coffee-taste” stays in my mouth for a long time, GSE and every other tonsil stones prevention method will NOT WORK if you drink coffee with dairy every morning. If you’re a regular cereal eater, try Soy Milk! At first it does taste a little bit different but honestly I LOVE the taste! I missed my cereal =[

Alright, so with the essentials covered, I’d recommend picking up a non-dairy cookbook and start making delicious meals for everyone without worrying “is there dairy in this?”. I noticed a big part of succeeding in a non-dairy diet is putting yourself around GOOD foods more often than DAIRY foods, this essential.

Take Care everyone! Good Luck and God Bless

Can you relate? A question about tonsil stones.

September 22, 2009 in Bad Breath, Tonsil Stones, Tonsillolith by Josh (admin)

Ok, I need your help with this one. I have, obviously, cleared my tonsil stones. Now I get bored if I don’t do tests and figure out more facts about this dreaded condition. So in developmental research I started this test a month ago. I started drinking milk to see;
1 – How fast tonsil stones came back
2 – If I could smell or taste my breath when I had tonsil stones
3 – How long it takes to get rid of them by different methods, but mostly including;
a) The “stop drinking dairy” method.
b) Our “grapefruit seed extract” method.
c) A healthy combination of both.

The first thing I noticed, is that I had bad breath the same day I started drinking milk. In fact the next morning was even worse than the first day. Tonsil stones had definitely started forming although I couldn’t feel them yet. By the third day, I could feel a tonsillolith inside my left tonsil (anyone else notice they usually grow in one side or the other?) My initial plan was to drink milk for a week, then stop drinking milk for 1 to 2 weeks but after the third day I was so disgusted with my breath I was brushing my teeth every couple hours trying to rid myself of the taste and smell. So the experiment was shorted but the same effect will be had in the end so… Saves my wife from dealing with 4 more days of torture hehe.

So anyways, at the end of the 3rd day I stopped consuming ANY dairy. Started looking at the ingredient lists of every food I ate, really I just became a little extra cautious on which foods I ate. To cut to the chase, while cutting dairy DID help tremendously in my bad breath, it took over two weeks for me to notice a big difference. It seemed like the smallest things that you wouldn’t even consider dairy would start to give me tonsil stones again. Cooler Ranch Doritos, Spaghetios, all contain SOME level of dairy! It was driving me nuts I couldn’t eat anything I liked, but it did help!

After being frustrated and hunger-craved I started gargling with my GSE again and what a difference! I could eat snack foods, McDonalds, all the things that are awful for me but are just soo good! This might sound like a pawn to eat unhealthy? But it’s actually not. What I’m trying to say is, while not COMPLETELY cutting out dairy, and gargling with GSE, i’m able to eat “almost” all the foods I like without every worrying about tonsil stones.

So in closing; no dairy = good , no dairy + gse = complete breath confidence. Take Care!

Tonsil Stones – Why do I get them?

September 21, 2009 in Bad Breath, Tonsil Stone Remedies, Tonsil Stones, Tonsillolith by Josh (admin)

Through personal experiences and newly researched information, I’ve gathered a list of foods and drinks that can cause tonsil stones, as well as a list of foods and drinks that don’t directly cause tonsil stones but rather feed their growth drastically.

Foods and Drinks that cause tonsil stones: This category can essentially be summed up into one word, “dairy”. This is a broad term that applies to more foods and drinks than you might initially think! Obviously, milk, creamers, and cheese are the main dairy products you would think of. Less known products would be any kind of chocolate, some canned sauces, almost all candy bars, and chocolate drinks (slimfast, protein drinks etc). To really completely cut out dairy, which is recommended during the first 7-14 days of eliminating tonsil stones, it “will” take self-control and effort on your part to really look at what you’re eating and drinking, checking ingredient lists, and so on.

While in this 7-14 days of non-dairy diet, you should also stay away from a number of foods and drinks that don’t “cause” tonsil stones directly, but rather fuel their growth dramatically. These foods and drinks are: Any alcohol, foods or snacks with high sugar contents, mouthwashes with alcohol in them, foods with extremely high levels of protein. Again in the initial one to two week period, try to stay away from all dairy, and the other foods and drinks I mentioned. Even one or two meals of pizza or other cheese products can turn your progress around fast. Follow these steps, as well as the other steps mentioned in our e-book and you’ll be on the only real method to stop tonsil stones available!

Take care everyone – Josh Katherman
